Job Description

Overview

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist patients in recovering from injuries, improving mobility, and enhancing overall physical function. In a PRN (as needed) role at Symbria, the PTA will provide high-quality rehabilitative care in a home health setting, delivering personalized treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and promoting patient education to support optimal recovery pathways.



Job Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in the implementation of treatment programs tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Conduct therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the supervising physical therapist.
  • Motivate and encourage patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation.
  • Monitor and document patient progress and report findings to the physical therapist.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment, including proper maintenance of equipment and treatment areas.
  • Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs and health promotion strategies.
  • Adhere to all state regulations and organizational policies regarding patient care.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
  • Experience in home health or outpatient settings is preferred.
