Job Overview

The 100% Remote OpenShift/DevOps Engineer at Sharp Decisions will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of containerized application solutions. This role requires a fusion of development and operations skill sets, focusing on automating infrastructure, managing deployments, and ensuring efficient collaboration between software engineering and IT operations. The successful candidate will leverage OpenShift to enhance system performance and reliability, while also troubleshooting and resolving issues in the cloud environment proactively.



Job Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
  • Automate deployment processes and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
  • Collaborate with development teams to create architecture and deployment strategies for container applications.
  • Monitor system performance, optimize resources, and ensure high availability of services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in production environments.
  • Document processes, configurations, and procedures to enhance team knowledge and performance.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations as required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, docker, and container orchestration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Solid understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and virtualization technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
